Hard for an old kodger like me to get the video to play. Took two clicks on the go button instead of one to get action. It would help if you didn't move the camera so fast. I am only halfast!! Stay in like Flint! my friend.

Hi,

I just couldn't help but leave a comment in here. I'm Tommy, a hiker from Australia. I haven't been to Townsend Wye before, but from what I read I second the Park for imposing the new regulation. No matter how much precautions one takes, disaster could strike at any time. With the increasing number of crowds, disaster bounds to happen one way or another.

Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong in having fun and being adventurous. I guess knowing your limit is always recommended.

My two cents.

That is Litte Duck Hawk Ridge. You can no longer hike on the ridge. The whole in the ridge is called Eye of the Needle. The trail has been closed to protect the hawks. However, the ridge can be viewed from several locations on the Alum Cave Bluff Trail, from Inspiration Point to a little above the Alum Cave Bluff. There are many pictures of this ridge at http://www.mtleconte.com.

Hello:

Years ago I headed up to Mt. Leconte and we stopped on the left at a great overlook. My friend called it the "Razorback". Great spine of a cliff that had a hole in it a few hundered yards down the "spine" Way back in the 80's it had a canister with a log and we signed it. Do you know where this spot is on the way to Mt. Leconte . I want to find it again.

Regards,

Spencer

I enjoyed reading your blog about hiking and thru the Smokies! Wow! We traveled to Gatlinsburg alot, but we have not hiked except down Crabtree Falls. We are older now and walking each day around our home is what we do only because of "time". Who these days has time. This "blog" info is new to us, as we do accounting all day, but this is nice to see ads for rooms and such. Makes you think of doing some mountain trips, even though it is summer here in Greensboro NC. Since you do hike we found something for better endurance and health. If you would like some info on it we would be glad to send it. Looking forward to more reading of your adventures. Thanks for sharing and allowing us to remember our many times in Gatlinsburg area. Norm & Linda/Greensboro NC
